O2 Planning + Design worked alongside Sunnyside Sustainable Living and Hindle Architects to secure planning approvals for a new 6-unit townhouse development in the community of Hillhurst- Sunnyside. Once complete the development will contribute to the ongoing evolution of the community by introducing a contextually sensitive building that provides a modest increase in density. The proposed mix of unit sizes range from 765 – 1400 square feet. These units will be attractive to a variety of future residents of different family makeups and demographics.
Located across the street from the Sunnyside School, the site offers an ideal opportunity to provide family-oriented and affordable housing. O2 Planning + Design submitted the land use redesignation in December 2017 and it was approved by Council on March 19, 2018 resulting in an approval timeline of less than 4 months.
