Halifax Green Network Plan

O2 is currently collaborating with the Halifax Regional Municipality to develop a Greenbelting and Public Open Space Priorities Plan (Open Space Plan). The goal of the Plan is to protect an integrated system
of parks, connecting corridors and natural areas. This will support ecosystem and community health, and preserve wildlife habitats of critical environmental and cultural significance. This Plan is a key deliverable under the Halifax Regional Municipal Planning Strategy (Regional Plan).

The Open Space Plan, as a planning and land management framework, will enable sustainable community design and help define local communities. This will also benefit the Municipality’s social and economic well-being. By protecting and preserving connectivity between natural areas and public open space lands, the Open Space Plan also works to support the overall purposes of the Regional Plan.
