The Canmore Visitor Information Centre (VIC) Master Plan serves as a vision for the facility’s future in the short and the long-term. It is a guiding document that solves the immediate problems of the site, while anticipating future expansion that will be driven by: increased visitation to the mountain parks, continued growth of Canmore’s tourism based economy and an increase in Canmore’s and Calgary’s regional population.

The master plan provides a strategy for the redevelopment of the VIC to meet the growing needs of visitors. The plan envisions the facility as a multi-use travel hub that provides visitors with travel and recreation information, convenient amenities and an authentic tourism experience. The report consists of a existing conditions assessment followed by specific recommendations and an overall site plan. It provides recommendations on implementation of the plan and explores deep greening initiatives.
