O2 Planning + Design is working with The Slokker Group to enable the development of a new community in West Calgary at the intersection of 17 Ave and 85 St SW. O2 has submitted a combined outline plan and land use redesignation application to facilitate a mix of medium and higher density multi-residential developments offering more than 1000 units. The vision is for the development of a new community that takes advantage of its location in Calgary’s west side, the natural features of the site and the proximity and views to the Rocky Mountains.
O2 Planning + Design is also providing landscape architecture expertise to this project, rehabilitating the raving system to enhance it as a naturalized public amenity feature to be enjoyed by residents of the site and wider neighbourhood.
The ravine system will provide opportunities for active recreation on the trail system that runs along both sides of the ravine and connects to the broader west Calgary trails and natural areas network. O2 Planning + Design has worked collaboratively with The Slokker Group and City of Calgary planners to ensure that the proposed land use concept aligns with the policies of the Springbank Hill Area Structure Plan. The combined outline plan and land use application was submitted on April 19, 2018.
